The Coral Kingdom

Exhibition / AR Experience / 3D Ads / Environmental Design / Branding Products

The goal of this project is to show people the beauty of coral and to make people gain more knowledge about coral and aware the importance of protecting ocean.

The main object of the exhibition will be my coral collage, which includes paintings, photos, cardboard prints and other materials. I use different materials to show and simulate the coral form, including rubber, sponge, foam, fluorescent paper, cotton string, cotton, etc. Visitors can feel the real touch of coral by touching them.

Besides exhibiting in the gallery, I would also used AR to bring the coral into the lives of people in New York. By using phones to scan the posters in subway stations and on the streets, the coral will come to this modern industrial city far away from nature.

I want the entrance to give the visiter an idea of the world of coral they were about to enter.

I used my collage on the porch of the entrance as a three-dimensional sculpture, while the wallpaper in the background and the curtain made of blue translucent plastic both use elements from my collage installation.

There will be partial projections of the collage installation on the wall inside the exhibition hall, while some holographic projections of individual corals are placed in the center of the room, where visitors can observe the corals up close.

On the big screen in Times Square, I set up a 3d underwater world, so that people stand in the middle of this metropolis to feel the beauty from the coral.

To bring the coral to life, people can scan the QR code on the subway ads and the beautiful sea creatures will come to the streets of New York through their phone screens.

All the collage imaged used in this project are created by myself.
